You always hear people talking about aging gracefully, but what does graceful mean? According to the dictionary graceful:“is characterized by elegance or beauty of form, manner, movement, or speech; elegant: a graceful dancer; a graceful reply.” When we live a balanced life we fill ourselves with all the elements of grace. To move like a dancer; however, it starts with our toes, or more accurately our feet. So instead of thinking "head to toe" think "feet first" to take a look at the most neglected part of your anatomy. So let’s take a look at one of the newest products in footwear, MBT shoes. The first thing one notices about MBT shoes is their name - MBT- Masai Barefoot Technology. If you ever have the golden opportunity to visit the native Masai tribe in Africa and see them walk, you will agree these people are the most natural embodiment of graceful movement. Their effortless erect posture gives them a regal appearance befitting of royalty. Of course, they walk barefoot on soft ground all of their lives, which is something we don’t get to do in our modern world, but MBT seems to have found a way to mimic the attributes of the Masai tribe within a modern setting. Based on the mechanics of natural barefoot walking on uneven surfaces, the shoes soles are curved in such a way that the wearer experiences pavement as if it were uneven soft sand causing your body to stand erect to maintain an elegant balance. There is nothing like good posture to take the years off. These shoes not only literally make standing correctly as easy as walking; they are physiological footwear that causes less stress to the joints while they tone many unused muscle groups. Even if you don’t suffer from foot pain, most professional trainers would agree; correct alignment is a key to preventing injuries during any exercise program. Why not get into the habit of standing taller and moving with the grace of ageless beauty. To find the closest dealer to your favorite elements™ gym, visit the MBT website.
