Enjoy our top picks for the best summertime reading. We literally go through hundreds of books each month on lifestyle, beauty, and fitness.
The Mediterranean Heart DietBy Helen Fisher with Cynthia Thomson, PH.D., R.D
Wow, who knew you could have goat cheese and red wine and still lose weight! I have since switched to extra virgin olive oil and I am loving these new recipes. Now, if I could only plan the trip to Italy. I suggest watching Under the Tuscan Sun while cooking these recipes to get a taste of Italy. Christina M., Manyunk, PA
Fire Up Your MetabolismBy Lyssie Lakatos, R.D. and Tammy Lakatos Shames
This diet book is truly unique. The nutrition tips are diverse and easy to integrate into any lifestyle. I particularly enjoyed the “twin trials” section. The twins used their identical genetics to test out different recommendations for jump-starting metabolism. Very interesting stuff.
The South Beach Diet Taste of Summer CookbookBy Arthur Agatston M.D
As an avid fan of my favorite afternoon snack bars, I had to read the book behind this tasty diet meant entirely for a food connoisseur like me. 100 calorie Oreo Cookie bars spell diet success to me. ☺ Anyhow, there is a science behind the South Beach Diet with food enjoyed by millions. And I found it right here in the Summer Cookbook. With fresh salads, wraps and even summer style desserts the 14 minute recipes had me in the kitchen sometimes for an afternoon trying new things for my friends and I to try! Angela D., New York, New York
The Abs Diet for WomenBy David Zinczenko
What a great resource! Who knew too much of certain foods like avocado contribute to an extra pooch. I was amazed to learn new “tricks” and even times to eat certain foods. Once again, I was reminded of how amazing our bodies truly are!
